A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Jessica Zamarron has been an accountant for over 10 years. As a certified public accountant, Jessica Zamarron has held the position of a corporate accountant form where she revamped an accounting system, prepared monthly performance reports, among other responsibilities.
While a corporate accountant is a popular career for certified public accountants, there are also other career directions that can be taken by those who possess expertise in the field of accounting.
1. Business valuator – Business evaluation focuses on how much the business is worth and how much it can be sold for. Although other professionals in the financial field can fill this position, certified public accountants are better-positioned to handle business valuations due to their rich tax background.
2. Enrolled agent – Enrolled agents prepare claims and represent citizens. However, unlike other certified public accountants who are confined within their registered jurisdiction, a certified public accountant who takes the responsibilities of an enrolled agent can represent any taxpayer in an IRS office in the united states.
3. Appraiser or assessor – This career revolves around evaluating and determining the value of a property. Assessors mostly work in the public sector while appraisers work in the private space. Whether in public or private practice, certified public accountants are well-suited for these positions due to the substantial tax details involved.
